Fashion Meets Art.

 

  

 

I have chosen a few of my favourite creations of art work to produce this digital portfolio, to show my creative side. I have presented illustrational work, such as my first piece of work which is taken from Mannequin Life Drawings, testing different materials, such as charcoal, chalk, ink and pencils on old maps. I am very passionate about learning new techniques when it comes to figure drawing and illustrations, I am very inspired by work from artists such as Amelie Hedgart, Ross Kirton & Nawel.

I use mood boards as a gateway to starting a new design brief, flaring my creative side to create new and innovative ideas that can be made a reality. I collect images that inspire me, from artists and designers that make me create outrageous new designs never been seen. I fill my mood boards, I believe that a successful mood board is overflowing with research and ideas, with no white paper to be seen.

Throughout the time I have been studying fashion, I have created garments from denim jeans to hats and jackets that challenge different eras from punk rock to Elizabethan times. Creating garments isn’t just making an item of clothing; it’s creating a piece of art that can be appreciated by others that share the passion and creativity I have for art and fashion.

The photography and design technology skills that I have achieved throughout my school years and foundation diploma have helped me present my work to the highest possible standard achievable; I have shown examples of my photography and graphic skills in my final image.

Within my work I want to build dreams as opposed to garments" and smiles as opposed to outfits. When times are hard, fashion doesn't accept any boundaries and this is the sort of lifestyle I want to lead, a life where people aren't restricted through race or gender, and a life where only true imagination stands the test of time. I want to learn more about fashion and pursue a career in the industry, I dream to be at the same level as the greats such as great Vivienne Westwood, Chanel & Marc Jacobs, but also artists such as Andy Warhol, Paul Klee and Edgar Degas. I believe in working to your full potential to achieve your ambition and I believe that my ambition shows no limits.
